Your first tattoo in Hobart, start to finish.
Bruno has done more than 3,150 tattoos, and plenty of them were someone's first. You don't need to know the lingo, have a finished design or know the exact spot. "I've got a rough idea" is a perfectly good start.

Have these if you can. "Not sure yet" is fine for any of them:
- Where on your body.
- Roughly how big, in centimetres.
- 1 to 3 reference pictures.
Does it hurt?
Honestly, a bit. Most people describe it as a hot scratch, and say it was less than they expected.
Bony and thin-skinned spots (ribs, feet, hands, inner arm) are spicier. Outer arm, forearm and thigh are the gentlest places to start. You can stop for a break any time.
The day before
- Sleep well.
- No alcohol for 24 hours. It thins the blood.
- Moisturise the area for a few days beforehand.
On the day
- Eat a proper meal 2 to 3 hours before.
- Bring water and a snack.
- Wear loose clothes that give easy access to the spot.
- Bring photo ID. You must be 18 or over.
Please reschedule if you
Let Bruno know as early as you can so your deposit can move to a new date.
- are sick or on antibiotics
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- have sunburn, a rash or a cut on the spot
- are heading somewhere sunny or to the beach within 2 weeks
Questions
Do I need a finished design?
No. Bring the idea; drawing it is Bruno's job.
Can I bring a friend?
One support person is usually fine. Let Bruno know when you book.
Do I need ID?
Yes. Tasmanian law says you must be 18 or over, and you'll need photo ID, even with a parent present.
